Return Achimota Land To Rightful owners; Not Owoo Family - Osu Traditional Council

The Osu Traditional Council is challenging the arrival of the 'petulant' 136 sections of land of fringe bits of the Achimota Forest to the Owoo Family.

As indicated by a representative of the Osu Stool, Nii O.T. Ankrah, the woodland "impeccably" has a place with the Osu Stool yet it was given over to the State for the development of Achimota Senior High School and thusly, its expansion.

Mr. Ankrah, who talked on Angel FM's Anopa Bofo Morning Show, expressed that "the Owoo Family is from Ga Mashie; they can't emerge out of Ga Mashie and come into the chest of somebody's property and say that land has a place with them.'

When inquired as to whether the Owoo family could never have purchased the land, he answered that they ought to follow how they purchased the land.

His interests follow the public authority's choice to declassify portions of the Achimota Forest Reserves by an Executive Instrument (EI) and return them to the pre-securing proprietors distinguished as the Owoo Family.

Yet, addressing the land structure, Mr. Nii said "the land initially has a place with the State - so Ga Mashie - La - Osu - [then] the state. Presently when it moves to the State, it comes to the family; that is the Weiku, the Wei then with regards to the family, it comes to the individual… so in the event that it not for Gbese then how could it come to Owoo Family"

"We generally disapprove of where the public authority is sending the land to… So the Gbese Family would be shocked to discover that it [the land] has been given to the Owoo Family since it is,"

"That's what our anxiety is in the event that the public authority says they are delivering the land, it ought to go to the original owners, the 136 sections of land ought to go to the actual owners… ", he underscored.

He buttressed his focuses with lawful suits sought after by a previous Osu Chief, Nii Akonortei.

"… in light of the fact that as of July 28, 2011, Suit SOL/21/2020 Nii Akonortei versus Lands Commission on the arrival of 172 sections of land of Achimota Forest then in 2014 Nii Akornotei versus Lands Commission on the arrival of similar 172.68 sections of land which was allowed. There were requests which were completely excused", all of which he accepts is confirmation that the Osu Stool is the genuine overseer of the Achimota lands
